I liked the overall idea but found it overly fussy and bright for my desktop so I simplified it by running a decolouring filter in GIMP, airbrushing out the sections I didn't want and retouching it to suit.

No bones about it, this is a retouch of someone else's work -I've no rights to it but like the end effect. Since it's a Promo piece for a game I hope they don't mind too much

I like this. The dark feeling seems to suit it. I'm not sure how it compares to the original (the link doesn't seem to be working anymore, and when it did bring me somewhere I got distracted by warehouse 23!) but I'd definitely use this version on my desktop.

That makes much more sense. And yes, I do like your version better.

When I clicked the first link I got the message "You are unable to find the webpage you are looking for. Just as you're about to give up you turn a corner and find yourself in a warehouse full of boxes. The page you are looking for might be in one of these boxes... but probably not. Open a random box."
I then got distracted for the next half an hour opening random boxes!
